The Magic of Breast + Womb Massage: Why You Should Incorporate This Into Your Self-Care Ritual
I am extremely passionate about practicing self-love, but like so many women, there was a time when I didn't understand my worth, didn’t honor my own beauty, and I definitely didn’t love myself.
In 2016, I was in a horrendous auto accident that took several months to heal from. During my recovery, I had a lot of time to sit with myself, and I became excruciatingly aware of my thoughts, and what a lonely place my mind had become. Though the accident had badly damaged my body, my internal dialogue was damaging my heart and soul. I knew something had to change, so I began a path of intense inner work in effort to cultivate my own healing. I learned that I was holding some deeply painful core beliefs, and I began to understand where some of them originated. One of these really stood out at me:
“I am not enough.”
This belief so fueled my desire to change my appearance, that I got breast implants and went on to have several other surgeries, thinking for certain they would make me feel better about myself. The result? I still didn’t feel beautiful or sensual. I didn’t feel worthy of love. My inner goddess was wounded to her core.
I came across a woman’s story about having her implants removed. I was astonished by the list of symptoms she was experiencing simply by having something as seemingly innocuous as breast implants. I knew I needed to have mine removed too, so in 2017, that’s what I did.
When I woke from surgery, I could already feel a healing taking place within me. I was so full of joy that my body seemed to sigh with relief and gratitude. This experience had such a profound effect on me that I continued working on healing my inner world as well.
Body dysmorphia is something I still battle with to a degree. I pay careful attention to the words I use about myself and do my best to be a force of kindness toward myself as I navigate through the healing process. Some of the greatest healing came from tapping into the power and magic within my own body. Trust me when I tell you -- your body is amazing! When you tune in and really listen to it, you will find a great ally, and you can find true healing.
It's vital that we honor ourselves with love, gratitude, care, and admiration. Our bodies respond to everything we do (or don't do), and we can unwittingly manifest more serious problems in our health and well-being even through our thoughts. Our inner talk matters. It is my hope that every woman experience the healing that comes from loving herself.
Because I have experienced such amazing benefits myself from massaging my breast and womb, I wanted to share this with other women.
There is a connection between the heart chakra and the breasts. Your heart is nestled right behind the breasts. It is believed that a torn heart chakra can manifest through the breast. Situations that occur in our lives such as divorce, death, betrayal, abuse, neglect can lead to disease. The purpose of the heart chakra is emotional empowerment.
Some associated problems relating to the heart chakra:
- Heart Disease
- Breast Cancer
- Disease of the immune system
- Painful Breasts
- Breast Lumps
The heart chakra relates to love/self-love. The ability to give and receive unconditionally. When balanced we are able to love and nurture ourselves, imperfections and all.
The womb is connected to the sacral chakra. The womb is recognized as the sacred place we all came from, the source of life. The Divine Mother's creative power, through which She can manifest anything. Through your womb chakra you can create anything.
Some associated problems relating to the sacral chakra:
- Pre-menstrual syndrome
- Problems with menstrual flow
- Uterine fibroids
- Ovarian cysts
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Low back pain
The sacral chakra relates to self respect and your relationship with others. Having the ability to give ourselves the freedom to be ourselves, to have and respect our own boundaries and to respect others.
Taking the time to create ritual around massaging the breast + womb is healing physically and spiritually. Connect with your cosmic energy to deepen your relationship with self. Women report increased sensitivity and feeling of pleasure in the breasts, more self-love and love towards others, and lighter moon flow.
Massaging the breast + womb is a technique from the ancient Taoist tradition. It is used to create a loving connection to your body and to generate an abundance of vital energy. You may experience feelings of increased energy, more self-love, virility, and hormonal health. Daily massaging supports healthy lymph and blood flow to the tissue and helps with stagnation. Great for the skin as well!
As you connect with your heart + womb by giving attention to the breast and uterus, you are stoking the fire of your own love! This beautiful practice gets you out of head and into your body. Building a connection with your body through conscious and loving touch you will fall in love with your magnificent beauty that is truly you.

This smudge spray smells wonderful, and is great for when I don't feel like burning sage or other herbs. During the summer the burning of herbs seems too heavy , this is just what I needed.
