Pastured Raised Pork Lard

Delicious and versatile cooking fat that is perfect for sautéing, roasting, frying and baking. I highly suggest roasted veggies and greens, authentic tortillas, re-fried beans, fried chicken, pies, traditional biscuits, confit, marinades and dressings. Makes the perfect lard for the homesteader or traditional lard soap maker.

You'll notice in the drop down box for options that there is Lard and Crackling Lard. Lard is rendered through slow low heat which gives you that creamy white finish. Crackling, is the pieces of pork fat and skin left behind as the fat is rendered to produce lard. After all the fat is drained, the crackling is put into the oven to turn crispy and golden. There is still fat that is rendering from the crackling but takes on the flavor of crackling. It is quite delicious. If selecting Crackling, you get the fat rendered and not the crackling bits.
